Dr. Bomgart reads a diary of his friend Dr. Polyakov, where he describes the torments of a man who was captured by morphine. Sergei Polyakov – a man of sensitive disposition, he is an excellent doctor who failed to defeat personal pain. His beloved wife left him, and now the doctor’s life is filled only with ghostly memories of her. Fleeing from reality, Polyakov plunges into the world of drugs. But does another reality in this world exist? And does a person remember the inevitability of reckoning for illusions?
